regular giving and bequests

We don’t receive any direct Government funding so we are responsible for our overheads and all the support services we provide for those with a terminal illness, and their family. We also purchase and lend items that help make life easier for those with any kind of terminal illness, such as medical equipment, special beds, pressure gel mattress and chairs. We rely on the generosity of individuals, groups and organisations to support our much needed services, for which we are extremely grateful.

 Bequests

A bequest is a wonderful way to support the work of Hospice Wairarapa beyond your life-time. It’s a gesture of kindness which means a great deal to the people we care for, and ensures our service remains free to all.
Please consider supporting our vision by leaving a gift to Hospice Wairarapa in your Will, once you have looked after your family and friends. Your bequest will ensure we can still be there for people who need our support for many years to come.

Giving For Living Club

We would like to invite you to become part of our Giving for Living Club, to help support our free services to patients and their families on a palliative journey in the Wairarapa.
As a regular committed donor of our Giving for Living Club you can truly make a difference so that together we can ensure our community has access to free services in ways each patient and their family chooses to help make every day count.
Your contribution will provide support during the time of illness and after in bereavement.
By signing up to become a member of our Giving for Living Club you are helping us to effectively forward plan services each month and it allows you to spread your giving over time.
Here are some examples of no matter how small your regular giving is, it all helps.
  • $15 a month provides for travel to visit 3 families
  • $20 a month provides for a patient’s morning tea and lunch at our day activity programme
  • $37 a month provides for the printing of a patient biography
  • $50 a month provides for a counselling or podiatry sessions
You can join our special group Giving for Living Club by simply filling out the Automatic Payment form, choosing the amount (however small) you would like to give each fortnight or month and sending it back to Hospice Wairarapa, 59 Renall Street, Masterton 5810. Please include your contact (including email address if available) so that we can send you a receipt following the end of our financial year in March.  PS: Your donation over $5 is tax deductible with 33% back to you at the end of the tax year.
