Steph Blossom (Volunteer Manager) manages our large team of volunteers at Hospice Wairarapa. Some volunteers prefer not to work with patients directly and help in other ways, but for those who do, Steph works closely with our Clinical Services Manager, matching a volunteer to help in ways our patient and their family or whanau choose. Steph is responsible for recruiting, placing, training and supporting our wonderful volunteers at our base or in the retail arms. Alison Andrews (Patient and Family Services Coordinator) meets with patients and families to share and talk about the services Hospice can support them with. Sue Cochrane (Retail Manager) has overall responsibility for the day to day running of our retail outlets including the Hospice Shops at Masterton and Greytown along with the Saturday Garage Sale at Te Kowhai, our base in Renall St. Sue’s focus is on ensuring Hospice Wairarapa offers a wide range of quality goods to the community along with an excellent customer experience. Our retail operations rely on the generosity of our volunteers and we always welcome new enquiries from anyone interested in helping as a retail volunteer. Our Fundraiser is responsible for grant applications and growing our existing fundraising programmes and developing new strategies (events, regular giving, bequests) to increase our vital revenue streams. Kirsten Johnston (Programme Coordinator) coordinates our suite of free programmes such as Creative Hands, Out and About, Living Around Grief and the Caregivers Programme. Emma Batt (Office and Communications Coordinator) provides administrative support to our Management Team, assists with fundraising events, manages the day-to-day running of our base at Te Kowhai (IT, room bookings, supplies, building maintenance etc), administrates our recruitment process, maintains this website and coordinates our communications through social and traditional media.
